Team World Vision-Crossview
In Africa they say, “Water is Life.” About 668 million people in the world lack access to safe drinking water. Children and women often walk five to ten miles a day to gather water that isn’t even safe to drink; water that can make them sick. Over 250,000 people in the Gemena region of DR Congo still lack access to clean water.
What if by running, walking or biking, you could help communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo gain access to clean, safe water?
If you’ve ever felt moved by the suffering of children and families in the Congo, and want to see God work in your own life and community, this is your chance to make a difference!
Our team of runners and walkers will be training for the Mankato Marathon (full, half-marathon, or 10K) on Sunday, Oct. 22, and fundraising by sharing our stories (why we’re doing this and the impact it’s making in our lives) in order to provide clean water for families in the Congo. Anyone can be a part of the team! You can do this!
Consider joining our 2017 team if...
- you want to help bring clean water to communities in Africa
- you were a part of Crossview's team in the past
- you don't know anything about this, but think it sounds amazing
- you're not a runner and have never run a race (80% of people who run with Team World Vision are first timers!)
Click here to join Crossview's running team today! (If you are planning to complete the 10K or run as part of a relay team, choose Runner-Half Marathon). Make sure to choose Join a Team (not Individual) and select Crossview Covenant Church.
**NEW this year - BIKE TEAM**
We also have 50-mile bike option (the River Ramble on Sunday, Oct. 8) or 100-mile bike option (the River Valley 100 on Sunday, Aug. 27)! Join the bike team at www.teamworldvision.org/team/crossviewbike
