Membership at Crossview

In 1 Corinthians 12, the Apostle Paul describes the church like a body made up of different parts. These parts are all important and have a function. By seeking membership at Crossview you are saying that you desire to be an active member of this body, both through your gifts and presence. Below are the three steps required for membership. If you have any questions or need help, please contact Community Life Pastor Aaron Thompson.

  1. Watch the Membership Videos (Part 1 - 20 minutes; Part 2 - 30 minutes; Part 3 - 5 minutes, plus a spiritual assessment)

  2. Fill out the Membership Application

  3. Meet with a council member and a staff person to have a chance to ask questions and get answers, receive help getting involved, and briefly share your faith story.

Membership Handbook

The handbook will help you follow along with the videos. Preview it, print it out, or type in your own notes in the Word document. For the PDF click here. For the Word document click here.

Part 1 - Who We Are

In this section we will cover:

  • Your church experience.

  • What do you think so far about Crossview Covenant Church?

  • Crossview’s history, passion and vision.

  • What is “church” and what do you think of when you hear that word?

You will watch this clip midway through the first membership video when Pastor Brad instructs you to do so.

Part 2 - What is the Evangelical Covenant Church?

In this section we will cover:

  • The kind of church we are. We are an apostolic, catholic, reformation and evangelical church.

  • What we believe. Our Six Affirmations of Faith: the centrality of the Word of God, the necessity for new birth, the whole mission of the church, the fellowship of believers, the conscious dependence of the Holy Spirit, and the freedom in Christ.

  • For the PDF brochure of the ECC’s affirmations click here.

Part 3 - How do you get involved?

In this section we will cover:

  • Finding the gifts that God has given you by taking an online Spiritual Gift Assessment.

  • Discovering ways to serve at Crossview and in our local community.

What are my next steps?

  1. Confirm that you’ve watched all three parts/videos.

  2. Fill out the membership application. Click here.

  3. * Change because of COVID: Meet with a council member and a staff person to have a chance to ask questions and get answers, receive help getting involved, and briefly share your faith story. Please email the church to schedule this meeting. After this your application will go to council for approval.

  4. Upon approval, you will attend the Sunday service where we welcome new members. You will stand in front of the congregation to answer a few simple “I do” questions. After that you will be welcomed and prayed over. Congratulations and welcome to the Crossview family!

We are thankful that you have taken this significant step of faith.

And now the excitement continues as you connect, grow, serve, give financially, and make Crossview your home church.

We are better together.
