Crossview Kids

Crossview Kids In-Person Programming - Sundays, 10:00am (birth-5th grade)
We care about kids at Crossview! We offer a safe and fun place for your children to grow in their faith. Crossview Kids programming is available for ages birth through 5th grade during the 10:00am services! No RSVP required.

This is what you can expect your morning with us to look like: Your kids will start in service with you and participate in worship. This is a great opportunity to connect to Jesus as a family that we don’t want you to miss! Once worship is over, your children will be dismissed to programming. They will get to learn and connect to our great Lord while you are in service doing the same! Programming will last until the end of service which is when you can come pick them up and hear about their morning. If you have any questions, please contact our NextGen Team at nextgen(at)crossviewcov.church

CONFIRMATION (7-11TH GRADE)

Confirmation has always been a lasting tradition to explore God’s Word and the importance of living a Christian life. A major focus for teenagers is learning to think for themselves and develop their identity. Confirmation sits at the cusp of this stage of life. The end goal of Confirmation is for students to learn, reflect, and affirm their faith while recognizing that following Jesus is a lifelong journey filled with these things. Confirmation is not the end, rather it is the beginning of this relationship with Jesus. At Crossview, confirmation is meant to propel students into the next step of their faith journey.

We value confirmation as an opportunity for students in 7th-11th grade to go through an intentional two years of discipleship consisting of five key components. Students are welcome to join at any time and will finish confirmation after they complete:

  1. Attending weekly large group teachings;

  2. Reading through and discussing the big picture of God’s story twice a month with a mentor;

  3. Participating in our confirmation retreats;

  4. Serving at church and in our community with others in your class, and

  5. Completing a small paper and pastoral interview about your confirmation experience.

CONFIRMATION CLASS TIMES

Confirmation meets at both of our campuses, starting new terms every September and January:

  • Howard Drive Campus 8:45-11:15am

  • Rosa Parks Campus 8:30-11:30am

What is 5Cs Preschool?

5Cs Preschool is a Christian, week-day, non-profit, pre-kindergarten program for children ages 24 months – pre-kindergarten. It is an outreach ministry of Crossview Covenant Church. Each child must file an application form with $40.00 application fee and have a complete health form prior to enrollment in the program.

Are the teachers certified?

5Cs is a licensed preschool through the Minnesota Department of Human Services. All teachers and assistant teachers meet the qualifications for preschool education set by DHS. The school was one of the first in Minnesota to achieve accreditation by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs (a subsidiary of the National Association for the Education of Young Children).

How long is the school term?

5Cs will be in operation from September through mid-May. During those months, the calendar of Mankato District 77 will generally be followed. The same snow days will also be observed.

For more information, please call 507-388-2222 or email Melissa Jennings.

What will my child learn?

The aim of the 5Cs is to supplement the home in providing experiences which promote the intellectual, social, religious, emotional and physical development of your child.

It is the combination of playmates, creative experiences, a Christian atmosphere and a friendly, competent teacher which makes pre-kindergarten a valuable experience. We believe a child will come to know Jesus through association with caring Christian adults and teaching of age appropriate Christian principles.

The basic philosophy of instruction at 5Cs is summarized in the statement of Dr. Lawrence Frank, educator and author: “Play is the way a child learns what no one can teach him.”

Included in the daily schedule are opportunities for each child to explore and discover:

  • Perceptual and Organization Skills

  • Language Arts Usage

  • Mathematics Understanding

  • Science Concepts

  • Social Relationships

  • Spiritual Concepts and Moral Values

  • Creative Art Experiences

  • Physical Development, Health and Safety Standards
